It is easy to argue that indie music is easily the most inspiring of all music genres, potentially excluding classical music, as it tends to be very thoughtful and poetic. The very notes, lyrics, breathes, and hesitations of indie music all add to the overall emotional quality of the genre–everything could be argued to be significant.
So this begs the question: who inspires you? Individual artists have the ability to touch us emotionally and mentally in very profound way, depending on who reaches you. Personally, my most inspirational musical figure is none other than Sam Beam, of Iron and Wine. Since the day I discovered Iron and Wine, I have been addicted to the sound quality of the music, the poetic lyrics, and the peaceful, soothing sound of Sam’s voice. I connect deeply with his style and subject matter–I could listen to him for days at a time!
But enough about me. Who inspires YOU?
