A band will be kicking off the Paramount season  by recreating the performances of  Journey, an iconic rock band of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. They hope to recreate the legacy of Steve Perry, the legendary lead vocalist who was not only successful with his band, but as a soloist.

Perry Stevens will be the lead vocalist of the tribute band, Journey Unauthorized, and he will try to emulate the vocals and stage performances of Steve Perry. The tribute band has listened and watched live versions of the star in order to get every part as natural and as legit as the real thing.

“We give people the 1980s Journey so we are not competing with the current Journey,” Stevens said to a media source.

The concert, being held Sep 11 from 4:30-7:00pm in the Grand Gallery of theater,  is only part of a “kick-off party” for Paramount Theatre’s 2009-2010 season.
